How to Brew Coffee with the Chemex Pour-over Coffee Maker:
1. Boil water and let it cool for 1-2 minutes, aiming for a temperature of 90-95 degrees Celsius.
2. Place the filter in the Chemex with the thicker part and folds towards the spout.
3. Wet the filter with some hot water to rinse it and heat the glass.
4. Pour out the hot water before commencing the brewing process.
5. Grind your coffee to a medium-coarse texture (similar to French Press).
6. Add approximately 6g of ground coffee per 100ml (60g/L) to the filter—shake it slightly to flatten the coffee grounds.
7. Bloom the coffee grounds for 30-40 seconds by pouring just enough water to wet them all.
8. Slowly pour the remaining water in a circular motion, targeting the grounds rather than the sides.
9. Once all the water is poured (125ml per cup or 250ml per mug), let it filter through (this should take around 3-4 minutes).
10. Remove the filter, pour your coffee, and savor the experience.
